Best photo spots in Paris - an instagram guide

It’s hard to deny that Paris is one of the most photographed places in the world. From its iconic landmarks to its charming neighbourhoods, there are countless photo spots to explore between your croissants and macarons. Here are the 10 best photo spots in Paris that are guarenteed to level up your Instagram feed!

Best Photo Spots for the Eiffel Tower

Trocadéro

The most popular spot for photographing the Eiffel Tower is the Trocadero. Located across from the Eiffel Tower, it offers a stunning panoramic view of the tower and the Seine River. It is incredibly busy though with crowds starting at sunrise and lasting late into the night. The city has also recently added a spike to the wall which makes it much harder to take the perfect shot up there. Whilst it’s definitely worth seeing, there are much better places to get your dream tower picture.

Trocadero Gardens

Just beneath the Trocadero, you’ll find Trocadero Garden. The gardens are most popular for photos during spring as they’re home to stunning pink blossoms and various other flowers. Whilst less busy than the Trocadero platform, they can still be full of tourists and locals alike at all times of day.

Avenue de Camoens

Just a 5 minute walk from the Trocadero, you’ll find Avenue de Camoens. Whilst less popular than the main tourist spots, this quaint road is becoming more famous for its tower views. You may have to wait in a small queue for your shot but the beautiful view is well worth it!

Avenue de New York

Avenue de New York is probably my favourite place to photograph the Eiffel Tower and is potentially my favourite photo spot in all of Paris! The road follows the bank of the Seine with views of the tower all along so it should always be possible to find a great spot! Just be sure to watch out for the adjacent bike lane when setting up!

Best Photo Spots in Montmarte

Fotomatica

If you’re looking for a unique photo spot in Paris, Fotomatica is a must-visit. It’s a photo booth that takes black and white photos and offers vintage-style prints. You can find Fotomatica in several locations throughout Paris, but the Montmarte one is by far the most popular. The booth isn’t open on Mondays and Tuesday so that’s the perfect time to go if you just want to snap a pic of the outside.

Sacre-Coeur

The Sacre-Coeur, a stunning basilica located on top of Montmartre hill, is definitely a must-see during your trip. There are various photo spots capturing the building from different angles and you can find panoramic views of Paris from the front.

Le Consulat

Le Consulat is a charming café located in Montmartre. With its red awning and beautiful flowers, it’s the perfect place to capture the essence of Parisian life. It is a fully working cafe though so go early so you don’t disturb the owners and remember to always be respectful of local businesses!

Other Great Photo Spots in Paris

The Louvre

The Louvre is one of the most famous museums in the world, but it isn’t just the art inside that attracts attention! The iconic glass pyramid and surrounding architecture make for the perfect photo spot. Avoid the crowd by heading across the square from the main entry point to find a much quieter walkway.

Palais Royal

The Palais Royal is a hidden gem in Paris. It’s a beautiful garden surrounded by stunning architecture and has been used as a filming location for many movies. There’s plenty to explore but the best photo spot can be found in the courtyard, home to an art installation of black and white pillars.

Pont Alexandre III

Pont Alexandre III is one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris. With its ornate design, gold accents, and stunning views of the Seine River, it is the perfect place to capture a romantic photo. You can capture the sunset or take a photo at night when the bridge is lit up, creating a magical and dreamy atmosphere.
